JUNEAU - Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski has raised more than $245,000 to help with her legal fees in her still-disputed race.
The figure appears in her post-election financial report, filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission. The report covers the period from Oct. 14-Nov. 22.
Campaign manager Kevin Sweeney says the figure has since topped $250,000. He says it's not yet clear whether that will be sufficient to cover Murkowski's costs; at this point, it should be, but he says a lot will depend on what happens in court next week.
A judge is hearing arguments then in Republican Joe Miller's challenge to the way in which the state conducted the election.
Miller also has set up a legal defense fund. His report was expected later Thursday.
