George Robert Guerrero
Former Douglas resident George Robert Guerrero died Nov. 23, 2000, in Pueblo, Colo.
He was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Washington and raised in Douglas. He fished as a seiner out of Angoon in his younger days. He was a Raven of the Deisheetaan Clan, a shareholder in Kootznoowoo Village Corp., a member of Sealaska Regional Corp. and a member of Tlingit-Haida Central Council.
He served 4 1/2 years in the U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II. He moved to Pueblo in 1946 and raised a family. He is survived by his wife Emma; children George Jr., Richard, Bill, Susan Montoya and Brenda Rodriguez of Colorado; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rutherford Benjamin Hogins
Former Juneau resident Rutherford Benjamin Hogins died Nov. 30, 2000, in Oxford, Miss. He was 86.
He was born in 1914 in Russellville, Ark. He served in the Third Infantry of the U.S. Army during World War II, rose to the rank of sergeant and was awarded a Bronze Star. He worked for the A.J. gold mine in Juneau. He retired as a project engineer with the U.S. Department of Transportation.
He is survived by his wife Rose Ellen Hogins and son Ben Hogins of Oxford, his daughter Susan Jane See of California, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Russellville.
Harry 'Gus' Watkins
Juneau resident Harry "Gus" Watkins died Nov. 9, 2000, in Juneau. He was 35.
He was born Feb. 22, 1965, in Seattle. He graduated from Issaquah High School in 1983 and attended Washington State University in 1984 and 1985. He moved to Juneau in 1989 and worked as an aircraft mechanic.
He is survived by his wife Julie and daughter Haley of Juneau, his mother Barbara Rhoe of Poulsbo, Wash., his father Harry Watkins of Farmington, Mo., sister Molly Watkins of Brooklyn, N.Y. and brother Scott Watkins of Seattle.
There will be no services.
