Barney McClure, world-class jazz pianist, teacher and accompanist, will return to Juneau to offer a five-day cabaret workshop hosted by Juneau Jazz & Classic from Jan. 25 to 29 at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center.
The workshops are structured to work with singers to teach how to present a vocal music piece in a successful and fun way. Each singer will learn interpretation, phrasing, microphone techniques and bandstand protocol in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. McClure is known for matching singers with the song they were born to sing.
Workshop fee includes one private ½-hour session with McClure. Registration is underway, and space is limited. To register, call 463-3378 or send requests to email@example.com
Also, Juneau Jazz & Classics' benefit concert, "Singin' in the Rain," will be held at 8 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center. Tickets are $15. To purchase, call 463-3378 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
