JUNEAU - A homeless man trying to stave off winter temperatures was hurt in a fire to his makeshift tent.
Firefighters rescued the man early Wednesday morning.
Capt. Keith Walker of Capital City Fire Rescue said firefighters responded to a call at about 1:15 a.m. near South Franklin Street downtown.
The man had been helped out of his burning tent by another homeless person. Walker said the tent was completely consumed.
The man was later taken to a hospital.
