The 15th Annual Shrine Endowment Dinner/Auction fund-raiser held Oct. 20 was a very special evening once again held at Cathedral Hall and the Board is most appreciative of the many who helpt to make this gathering a success. A grateful appreciation is extended to Father Michael Nash, Rector of the Cathedral and the Cathedral Parish for the use of this fine hall for the dinner/auction evening. Thanks to all those who purchased tickets for the dinner or made a financial donation to this worthy cause of generating funds to help make sur ethat this unique place, the Shrine of St. Therese, will be around for generations to come. An extra thanks to the 150 persons who actually attended this dinner and auction and were able to share with one another their commitment to the Shrine of St. Therese.

Many thanks to our volunteer chef, Maria A. Astra, who orchestrated the procurement and preparation of the delicious dinner so well-received at Cathedral Hall by those in attendance. Appreciation is extended, too, to Joan Kohake for donating and creating the table centerpieces, Liza and Roger Arsua, Millaine Milhaupt, Flor Batac and Lorenzo Jaravata for their assistance to Maria in food preparation, and Mike Dombkowski, John and Laurie Logsdon, Bell Hesson, Mary Fitterer, Joe Kyle, Chuck Gasparek, Cora Reece and Mely Batac for various essential evening operations. Lori and Tony Yorba and their fine crew of youth, Emily Krehlik, Molly Krehlik, Beatrice Muse, Vanessa White, Lalaine Arsua, Alex Marvel, Mackenzie Judson, Jason Lunasin, Jonathan Lunasin and Thomas Narvaez who waited on the dinner tables in a manner most considerate and helpful were very much appreciated. And, the evening was made much richer by the fine music created by Jun Ebron. We would like to recognize, too, Peggy Garrison who sold over 60 tickets for this dinner; each year she encourages more people to partake in this enjoyable fund-raiser evening. Thanks, too, for some helpful food donations that came from Juneau Wholesale, Northern sales Company of Alaska, and Bartlett Regional Hospital.

The children and families of Juneau Cooperative Preschool would like to thank the many businesses and individuals who supported our annual raffle with prize donations. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, with proceeds going to support scholarships and programs at the non-profit downtown school.
