I was quite amused when I read the article about Joe Geldhof's road compromise. For all these many years that the road issue has been discussed, I do not remember Mr. Geldhof or any of his anti-road cohorts ever using the word "compromise." I did not think that the word was in their vocabulary since they always behaved as though everything had to be done their way or no way.
Mr. Geldhof and others vigorously thwarted every pro-road effort through legal means, extreme anti-road propaganda and government maneuvers. They even helped to convince the governor to confiscate funds that were specifically earmarked for the continuation of the road study. Compromise indeed!
I equate Mr. Geldhof's compromise to that of the rabbit who suggested that the hunter throw him into the briar patch rather than capture him.
