Business fee license increase unfair

Letter to the editor

I am a small business operator and I did hear about the hike increase for business licenses through the news on the radio when the city council passed it. I was getting ready for work and I about choked on my toothbrush.

Fifty dollars to $200 is a total outrage and I protest this, but alas I need to keep my second-job business. I also pay quarterly city taxes.

I am a peon in the world of business and I am wondering if this is a ploy to discourage entrepreneurs? Raising my fees is not the answer - I may lose clients and it is not fair to them. Is there anyone else out there who feels like I do about this?
