Marty Holmes, 65, died Nov. 18, 2010 of a heart attack. He was born a twin on May 2, 1945 in Sitka to Clinton and Alice (Brown) Holmes. He married Christy Gates of Bozeman, Mont., in 1968, divorcing in 1987. They had two children: Todd in 1974, and Dusty in 1976.
Marty started Billikin Transfer in Petersburg and later, Olympic Tree Farm in Seattle. His favorite hobby was flying. He is survived by his son Todd of Mill Creek, Wash., daughter Dusty of Henderson, Nev., grandsons Justice and Zack of Mill Creek, sisters Mauna Lehmann (his twin), Anita (Richard) Anderson and Linda (Mike) LaFrance all of Port Orchard, Wash., brother, Ken (Debbie) Holmes of Bremerton, Wash., his companion, Barbara Wells of White City, Ore., 11 nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1976, mother in 2005 and brother Jay Holmes of Anchorage, also in 2005.
