• Juneau-Douglas High School swimming and diving team annual Christmas tree sale - Sale continues until all trees are sold at the Fred Meyer parking lot next to Juneau Electronics. Hours are 5-8 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Info: JDHS swim coach John Wray, 789-1759.

• Gastineau Channel Little League on-line registration - On-line registration for the 2005 season begins on December 8 and runs through February 28. Early registration rates are valid through January 30. Look on the Web at www.eteamz.com/gcllak. Info: GCLL, 789-9803.

• Juneau 4-H cross-country ski program sign-up - Registration for the Juneau 4-H cross-country ski program will be held on Sunday, Dec. 12, at Riverbend Elementary School. Sign-up will be from 1:30-2 p.m. for returning skiers, and 2-4:30 p.m. for those new to the program. Cost is $6 to join 4-H, and $50 for ski equipment for the season ($20 will be refunded if the member attends at least seven of the 10 sessions). Sessions will be held 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoons from January 2 through March 7. Info: Judy Covey at 4-H, 465-8749.

• Juneau Adult Hockey Association registration - The JAHA is accepting registrations now through December 15 for its winter 2005 coed adult recreation hockey league. The league offers four tiers of play - beginner, intermediate and advanced coed, and women's - and is open to players age 18 and older. The 14-week season starts January 10. • Zach Gordon Youth Center climbing wall - New climbing wall hours are 5-7 p.m. on Mondays, and 3:30-7 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The climbing wall can be used by people of all ages. Climbers age 20-younger climb free, while adults 21-older pay $5 to use the wall. Youth-adult interaction is encouraged, so an adult climbing with a youth pays no fee. • Recreational badminton - Auke Bay group: This group meets from 8-10 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at the Auke Bay Community School gym. This badminton open gym is for teens and adults of all skill levels and it costs $3 per person per night. Bring a racquet, if you have one. Info: Theresa Walden, 790-2499.

• Juneau Department of Parks and Recreation Wednesday and Saturday hikes - For updates on locations of Wednesday and Saturday group hikes, call the Juneau Parks and Recreation Hikes Hotline. Always remember to bring plenty of food and water, wear warm layers of clothing and proper footwear for the hike. No dogs or firearms are allowed. Wednesday hikes are limited to hikers 18 years of age or older. Saturday hikes are open to families, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
