Rayola Bradshaw Nichols
Juneau resident Rayola Bradshaw Nichols, formerly of Ashton and Parker, Idaho, died Dec. 2, 2009, at Wildflower Court nursing home in Juneau. She was 64.
She was born Feb. 9, 1945, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Seth and Vera Fullmer Bradshaw. She had two brothers, Leon and Grant, and two sisters, Donna and LaRue.
She was raised in St. Anthony, Idaho. After graduating high school she attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, for a year. She married Dennis W. Nichols on Feb. 13, 1963. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They moved to West Yellowstone, Mont., for a short period, and later moved to Ashton, Idaho, where they raised four boys, Dennis Allan, David Ray, Leon Bruce and Ernest Seth. She and Dennis divorced after 28 years of marriage, but are still happily sealed for eternity.
She ran a little cafe in Parker, Idaho, for 12 years and thoroughly enjoyed the people and the area. Illness forced an early retirement, but she never stopped serving friends and family to the best of her ability. The last two years of her life were spent close to her oldest son, Allan, in Juneau, where she truly loved the people and the divine beauty.
"She chose a path of service and love that will surely be missed," her family said.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Seth and Vera; a brother, Leon, a sister, LaRue McRae; and a close nephew, Trent Oram.
She is survived by her sons Allan, David, Leon and Ernest and their families; a brother, Grant; and sister, Donna.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Ashton Third Ward LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main St., in Ashton, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery.
