Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts:

A woman reported about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday on Mendenhall Loop Road that her vehicle was broken into and a soft black leather briefcase was stolen.

At about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fritz Cove Road, police report that a stolen purse was recovered, but cash, credit cards, a CD player and a cell phone were missing.

At about 10 p.m. Wednesday on McGinnis Street an Excalibur engine puller and stand were reported stolen.

At about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at LaPerouse Avenue, a guitar amplifier and sub woofer were reported stolen.

Vehicle accidents:

At about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McNugget intersection, a 1992 Nissan hatchback, driven by a boy, 16, struck a 1986 Volkswagen station wagon, driven by a woman, 18, pushing that car into a parked 1993 Nissan Maxima. The woman was cited for driving without a license.

At about 4 p.m. Wednesday on Glacier Highway, a 1996 Dodge pickup, driven by a man, 22, struck a Dodge Shadow, driven by a man, 59. The younger man was cited for driving without a license.

Animal encounters:

A bear was reported about 10:10 a.m. Wednesday near Stikine Street.

Other:

A man, 45, was arrested about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday on St. Ann's Avenue in Douglas on an outstanding Ketchikan state troopers warrant for failure to appear for a court hearing. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

A man, 40, was arrested about 2 p.m. Wednesday at Switzer Village Mobile Home Park on two outstanding Juneau police warrants for failure to appear at court hearings. He was lodged at state prison.

A man, 34, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Harbor on an outstanding Juneau police warrant for failure to appear at a court hearing. He was lodged at state prison.
