Ketchikan cares about Prince Rupert

Amanda Fehd's story on Nov. 23 about the Prince Rupert Container port continues to give a false impression that people in Southeast are not interested in the development.

It's true that Mike Round was the only Alaskan at the port's dedication, but prior to the dedication, a delegation of nearly a dozen Ketchikan local officials and private citizens attended a conference in Prince Rupert to discuss the port and how Southeast can tap in to it.

It should also be noted that Southeast Conference will meet next fall in Prince Rupert. The Container Port will likely be the dominant topic of discussion.
