Organization description: NCADD is dedicated to providing education, information, help and hope in the fight against alcoholism and other drug addictions. Background checks required. Must be 20 years or older.

Volunteer Opportunities: NCADD is looking for facilitators to help with CHOICE retreats. The overall goal of the Alaska Teen Institute retreats is for high school students to learn how to live healthier lives.

There are four set retreats on the subjects of drugs and alcohol, diversity and conflict resolution, healthy relationships and healthy choices. As an adult facilitator, volunteers will be expected to co-facilitate small group discussions, lead games and activities and help enforce the retreat rules. Volunteers will also sleep overnight with the students and act as a positive role model, as well as participate in a pre-planning and training meeting.
