PALMER - Lawyers in the murder trial of a Palmer man received some stunning responses about the case from prospective jurors.
Jury selection in Christopher Erin Rogers Jr. trial resumes on Monday. Rogers faces 12 felony charges, including murder, just in Palmer.
He is accused of killing his father, Christopher Erin Rogers Sr. and seriously wounding the man's fiance, Elann Moren, with a machete last year.
It was part of what authorities called a killing spree that carried about 40 miles south into Anchorage, where another man, Jason Wenger, 27, was gunned down.
Pre-trial questionnaires in Palmer produced some candid thoughts.
"He should be in jail for the rest of his life," one juror wrote.
"I don't know how he could not be guilty of a crime everyone knows he committed," another wrote.
These responses have played into attorneys' fears about pretrial publicity that may have caused some people to have already judged Rogers.
