Mayor has big plans for Anchorage park

ANCHORAGE - Mayor Dan Sullivan has big plans for the Anchorage Sports Park.

The 65-acre park acquired by the city in a 1990s land swap remains largely undeveloped except for some baseball fields and a dog area.

The Anchorage Daily News reports Sullivan is asking the Legislature for $4 million, and he wants city voters to approve bond money in the April election for major improvements.

They include an indoor recreation building, skate park, fenced-in dog park and paint ball area.
