Thanks to Rick Duncan, a firefighter who volunteers his time teaching the high school students CPR. The life they save may be yours or that of a loved one.

Why is everyone so down on Dave Benton and his work on Point Retreat? Everyone had an opportunity four years ago to put their requests in for these properties. The groups with the best plans falling within U.S. Coast Guard guidelines received the historical properties. Where was the Forest Service four years ago? The renovation is a slow tedious process, but I can assure you that progress is being made. Instead of condemning the association for trying to restore a piece of our history, we should thank them. I don't think the U.S. Forest Service has any plans for preserving these landmarks.

I think the coach's comments in court showed his concern for his own daughter but not the people they had just hit with their car.

As a parent and citizen of Juneau, I'm upset that a children's P.E. teacher and coach was released from any serious responsibility for the way he ditched someone else's kids to save his own skin.

I don't understand all the hoopla over the little tree that has been decorated across from Fred Meyer. But from what has been said so far, it would appear that most people are looking for a reason to complain about it. That's sad.

At the risk of sounding like a Scrooge, everybody keeps talking about this tree across from Fred Meyer, but why does it have to be in the middle of our wetlands? Why can't they find an empty parking lot?

Is Hugh Malone speaking for anybody other than Hugh Malone? As far as I can tell he's stopping the only process going on to address noise in Juneau.

Please don't drive around in traffic with your bright lights on. That is dangerous.

Instead of using all that land for a golf course, why don't we cut down all the trees and flatten the hills and the people who run the city could put in another 100 tourist shops. Think of all the $7-8 an hour seasonal jobs that would create.

We had The Learning Channel on cable. It was eliminated from Basic service. They took it away from the people who could least afford it. The only way to get it now is to go up to the $54 package.
