Championship games start at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday at Dzantik'i Heeni.

Lindh Ski Pass Scholarship deadline: The deadline for the Hilary Lindh Olympic Medal Season Ski Pass Scholarship Program is Friday, Dec. 8, at the Eaglecrest Ski Area Business Office downtown. This scholarship program, which honors 1992 Olympic silver medalist Hilary Lindh of Juneau, awards two season passes to a deserving boy and girl from grades K-12 in Juneau. Four-H Nordic ski program organizational meeting: Meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School library. Club is open to skiers in grades K-12, and older family members are encouraged to join the kids on the trails. A limited number of sets of skis, poles and boots rent for $15 for the entier season. Mighty Mite youth ski team registration: Registration is open for this winter's Mighty Mite ski team program for skiers ages 6-12 years old. The lessons at Eaglecrest Ski School focus on skier technique and introduce the children to racing. The 10-week program features Saturday lessons from 9:30 a.m. until noon starting on Jan. 8, and includes four optional race days. The cost is $105 for the lessons, plus $25 for a United States Ski Association membership and $20 per family for Juneau Ski Club membership. Avalanche awareness classes: Upcoming avalanche awareness classes from the Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center are Juneau Level I, Dec. 26-29 and Jan. 12-15; Juneau Level II, March 2-5; and Juneau Snowmachine, Jan. 5 classroom and Jan. 6-7 in the field.
