Not the only great breakfast in town

Letter to the editor

Posted: Wednesday, December 08, 2004

I am writing in response to Rebecca Braun's comment in her letter about Costa's Diner. In her letter she stated that "Not since the Channel Bowl Café closed has downtown had a place to eat a big sloppy breakfast and drink coffee from mismatched Salvation Army mugs with friends and neighbors you didn't arrange to meet."

My family and I visited Juneau this past summer and thought we had found just such a place at Bacars. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere just the perfect place to hang around on a Sunday morning which is just what we all did. My husband and I are planning to move to Juneau this summer if we can find jobs and are looking forward to making Bacars our favorite breakfast spot.

Please tell me it is still there!
