Girls' dorm flooded at Mount Edgecumbe High School

A sprinkler system burst at a girls' dormitory of Mount Edgecumbe High School, forcing the evacuation of 99 students, school officials said.

Several thousand gallons of water flooded the first and second floors of the dormitory on Dec. 3, apparently as a result of a cold snap that froze the pipes last week.

The students were relocated to other dorm rooms and rooms the school rented at the old Potlatch Motel.
