Honoring Pearl Harbor survivors

Gov. Tony Knowles, left, honors Pearl Harbor survivors Joe Booi, and Rex Talley, right, during a ceremony observing the 60th anniversary of the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, at the American Legion post in Anchorage on Friday. Knowles issued a proclamation ordering state flags to be flown at half staff to commemorate the day and used the opportunity to introduce two new elements to his plan to transform the Pioneers' Homes to the Alaska Pioneers and Veterans Home system.
