A man reported at 2:51 p.m. Sunday his Honda Civic was struck by an unknown vehicle somewhere in the Juneau area.
Motor vehicle accidents:
At 12:48 p.m. Sunday, a 1999 Kia Sport struck a pole near Willoughby Avenue downtown. The vehicle sustained an estimated $3,500 in damages. The 17-year-old boy driving the Kia was not injured.
A Plymouth Neon and an unidentified vehicle collided at 2:51 p.m. Sunday at Glacier Highway and Vanderbilt Hill Road. The Plymouth sustained an estimated $500 in damage to the front end. Minimal damage was reported to the other vehicle.
A woman, 18, sustained minor cuts to her arm when her 1996 Chevrolet Blazer flipped onto its roof at 4:21 p.m. Sunday on outbound Egan Drive at the retaining wall. The driver, alone in her vehicle, lost traction on the icy road and slid from the left lane to the right lane. The Blazer struck the retaining wall, rebounded and flipped onto its roof. It was towed from the scene with an estimated $10,000 in damage. The driver was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for injuries and cited on a speeding charge.
At 9:47 a.m. Monday, a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer struck a mailbox on Duran Street in the Mendenhall Valley. Damage to the Mountaineer was estimated at $3,000. The driver, a 20-year-old man, was not injured.
A woman reported at 9:19 p.m. Sunday a letter she placed in her mailbox was stolen near Lee Smith Drive in the airport area.
A man reported the theft of a pair of red skis at 11:51 a.m. Monday near Fish Creek Road on Douglas Island. The skis were valued at $650.
A man reported at 1:41 p.m. Sunday a black and red snowboard flew out of the rear of his truck while he was returning home from Eaglecrest Ski Area. The snowboard was valued at $350.
