Organization description: American Red Cross-Southeast Alaska provides relief to victims of disasters, emergency communication to military families and prepares people to respond to emergencies through public health and safety education.

Years of service: Over 40.

Volunteer positions available: Volunteers are needed for disaster relief. These positions are deployed outside of Alaska and serve for a three-week term. Disaster relief support teams are also needed at the local level. Volunteers are needed to do office work including accounting, answering phones, fundraising and public relations.

Hours: Regular and one-time volunteers are needed. Hours are flexible, excluding deployed disaster relief teams.

Training: Orientation and classes are required for training.

Special requirements: A background check and references will be required of disaster team volunteers.

In-kind donations needed: Office supplies including computer paper, manilla folders, paper clips, and a locking file cabinet.
