Jestoni Ramirez, 10, a fifth-grader at Glacier Valley Elementary School, sings Christmas songs with other students Saturday on Front Street. The students were collecting donations to fund a trip to Washington, D.C. Glacier Valley was one of five schools across the nation to win the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network Creative Ticket National Schools of Distinction Award, and has been invited to perform a locally written play, "The Tides and the Tempest," on March 15 at the Kennedy Center. Glacier Valley teacher Susan Sielbach said the school still needs to raise tens of thousands of dollars to pay for the trip.
