Clarification

Posted: Sunday, December 10, 2000

Due to a reporting error, an article on shipping charges to Alaska in the Nov. 28 Empire quoted FedEx Ground prices. FedEx Ground does not serve Juneau, except through a contracted agent. FedEx Express is the company that serves Juneau, including residential addresses, and whose vehicle was pictured in the accompanying photograph. Express doesn't charge extra to rural areas, nor does it charge extra for packages over 100 pounds. Both companies operate independently, but are owned by parent company FedEx Corp.
