Nonprofit's goal derives from group's Native roots

Grandma's Inc. is a new nonprofit group organized this year by the family of Maureen Brown. The organization started because they believed in their family and wished that they could interact with each other more often. Family members meet at each others' homes or at community events. They plan and network within the community as they slowly build positive assets within the family and community.

The group's nonprofit status is for education and recreation. Their goal and mission statements derive from their Tlingit culture. Family members are from the Brown Bear Clan, though their doors are open to all families.
