Winter ball held this weekend, dance tonight

The annual Winter Ball, featuring musical guests the Thunder Mountain Big Band, will be held from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at Centennial Hall. The ball is sponsored by the Juneau International Folkdancers.

Prior to the band's performance at 9 p.m., DJ music suitable for ballroom dancing will be played.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students at the door. Formal attire is encouraged.

Also, December's Thursday Night Contra Dance will be held tonight from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Terry Miller Office Building Gym, Sixth and Main streets, downtown. Odette Edgar will teach and call dances to live old-time music by the band "Red Steer."

No experience or partners are necessary. A donation of $3 is suggested. For more information, call 463-3214.
