The Alaska Marine Highway System canceled the sailing scheduled for 8 a.m. today of the ferry Fairweather, according to a press release from the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities.
The Fairweather was scheduled to sail from Juneau to Haines and Skagway. AMHS scrubbed the trip after forecasters predicted 45-knot (52 mph) winds and 10-foot seas in Lynn Canal.
