Alaska Youth Choir to perform with Juneau Tuba Ensemble

JUNEAU - The Alaska Youth Choir - a 30-member treble choir and a 35-singer concert choir - will hold its annual holiday show with the Juneau Tuba Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Northern Light United Church and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Chapel by the Lake.

Tickets are $8 for individuals and $20 for families and are available at Hearthside Books or the door. The show will include Christmas carols for the audience.

The Tuba Ensemble is a group of high school students led by band teacher Ken Guiher.

The treble choir is a preparatory beginners choir and will sing "Sleigh Bells," "Minka" and "Hasten Now O' Shepherds." The concert choir will perform advanced songs, including "Little Drummer Boy," "Virgin Mary Had A Baby Boy," "Medieval Gloria" and "Festival Sanctus." There's also an ensemble made out of 12 members of the concert choir.
