Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

• John Bender, 34, was arrested for drunken driving at 12:56 a.m. today near Mendenhall Loop Road and Mendenhall Mall Road. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Two men, both 20, were passengers in the vehicle and cited for underage drinking.


• Police arrested a man, 35, for domestic violence assault at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday in the Mendenhall Valley. He also was charged with driving with a revoked or suspended license. He was lodged at the state prison.

• Police arrested a woman, 26, for domestic violence assault at 3:46 a.m. today in the Mendenhall Valley. She was lodged at the state prison. Police believe alcohol was a factor.


• An ID card and credit cards were reported stolen from a purse at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday from an undisclosed location.

• A backpack, valued at $30, containing a passport was reported stolen at 12:46 p.m. Wednesday from an unlocked vehicle on Gastineau Avenue.

• A black day-planner containing miscellaneous papers and cash was reported stolen at 8:47 p.m. Wednesday near Mendenhall Mall Road.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• A rear passenger-side tire was reported slashed at 10:24 a.m. Wednesday near Third Street in Douglas.

Underage drinking:

• Police arrested three men, all 18, for underage drinking at 12:13 a.m. today near Mendenhall Loop Road. A Jeep in the area, which they denied driving, was impounded by the police.

Alcohol-related calls: 4.
