"We're optimistic we can get Hooter lift open on Saturday, and Ptarmigan open shortly thereafter," Duncan said late Tuesday.

The staff will decide by 2 p.m. Friday whether to open Saturday morning, Duncan said.

Either way, the base lodge will be open this weekend for food service and store purchases. Season pass-holders also will be able to get their pictures taken for passes. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The National Weather Service called for snow accumulation today, with snow levels at 900 feet tonight.
