CCC was formed in November 2007 at the request of the Mayor and Assembly to raise funds, create events and co-sponsor Juneau's 50th Statehood community celebrations.

Due to the Juneau Chamber of Commerce acting as an "umbrella organization," CCC helped to sponsor monthly events starting in June 2008 through the end of this anniversary year. Chair Kathy Hildre credited the city, businesses community, local organizations and volunteers in making the celebrations successful events.

Statehood memorabilia is still available. Medallions, pins and posters are available at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum and Miner's Postal.
