Thanks for attending 2009 Trail Mix auction

Posted: Sunday, December 13, 2009

Trail Mix extends its deepest thanks to the more than 200 trail lovers who came to our 2009 auction on Nov. 19. The evening would not have been possible without the wonderful support of volunteers, donors and friends, and we are in absolute awe of the generosity showed by Juneau's trail community.

Special thanks to the Alaskan Brewing Co. and The Rendezvous for donating all proceeds of the evening's beer sales, and The Spinnin' Pig for another fantastic fall barbecue feast. And aside from being huge fans of their music, we are very grateful to The Great Alaska Bluegrass Band for their generous contribution to Juneau's trails. Sealaska's Lee Katinger deserves special recognition for being the best auctioneer we could ever hope for, as he made the main event fun, exciting, and most of all profitable.

Thank you to Merrill and Kelly Jensen and the Jensen-Olsen Arboretum for their fabulous centerpieces, all of which found happy homes at the end of the night. Thanks also to the many volunteers who helped throughout the evening, including our wonderful SAGA members, who came early and stayed late working in the kitchen. Thank you also to the terrific staff at Centennial Hall, especially Marty and Bob. At the risk of missing several names, we would like to recognize Francis Still, Mary Stone, Katy Jordan, Rebecca Parks, Erik Boraas, Ethel Smith, Elisabeth Mercer, Mike McKrill, Kirt Stage-Harvey, all those who stepped up to help out.

Finally, we cannot say enough about the tremendous support of the dozens of businesses and individuals whose support have been essential to our success. We encourage everyone to thank these donors for making Juneau's trails one of our community's most cherished resources:
