Gov. Sean Parnell has appointed Mike Barton of Juneau to the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority Board of Trustees.
Barton is a former commissioner of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, was the regional forester in Alaska with the U.S. Forest Service, and served as an executive with The Rise Group, which provides construction management services.
The Board of Trustees preserves and protects the trust assets that fund mental health services and programs in Alaska. Barton has more than 30 years experience in resource and land management, and is appointed to a public seat on the board.
