Can't help but wonder

For the past month I have been more or less preoccupied by the nation's presidential election. Now it would seem to be over as we enter a realm of deep political division.

Some are saying we shall really never know who won this election. Others are saying we certainly will as all the Florida votes will be counted for the sake of history.

Regardless of what that process may ultimately reveal, there will always remain the infamous legacy of political bias that the High Court majority handed down in their decision.

I have been told by individuals in defense of the judicial system that judges are always above any special interest biases when forming their decisions regarding the law.

Now I know that this is almost certainly not the case and likely never was.

I can only try to empathize with the thousands of disenfranchised minority voters in Florida who at least made an effort to vote for the candidate of their choice.

In retrospect, I can't help but wonder what the outcome might have been if we had had a third party appointed judge on that U.S. Supreme Court bench?
