Age: 10.

Grade: Fourth.
School: Glacier Valley Elementary School.
Art of choice: Visual arts, flute.
Future plans: "I will be playing the flute next year and in the middle school also. ... I wish to be in college."
Activites: "I'm in Battle of the Books with a lot of my friends."
Reason: "I play the flute and I study it because it's fun to play and I love the music. I'm the flute section leader and that encourages me to play the flute. My friend, Rose, plays trumpet."
Favorites: "Me and my friends love listening to Hannah Montana. And I love the Jonas Brothers."
Her teacher, Sharon Denton, says: "Maria is a multitalented artist. She has an artistic eye for the visual arts, plays the flute with the Morning Musicians and is an accomplished knitter. Maria is observant and has a keen sense for color. She's willing to explore all mediums and produces quality work. She enjoys sharing her work with others.
