Eaglecrest Ski Area opens for season

JUNEAU - Eaglecrest Ski Area has a limited weekend opening.
Ski area manager Kirk Duncan says the Ptarmigan chair lift will be open between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. today. The area will then close until Thursday.
The budgeted opening was set for last weekend, but there wasn't enough snow at the time.
Duncan says crews will be making snow all week, so a full opening is anticipated next weekend.
