JUNEAU - The Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau announced new board members at its annual meeting Thursday at the Baranof Hotel.

Sixty to 80 people were expected at the gathering, Membership Coordinator Valerie Kelton said. The organization has more than 250 members.

Half the board was elected as 10 people ran for six slots.

New board members are Jill Ramiel of Silverbow Inn & Bakery, Craig Jennison of NorthStar Trekking, Rick Kasnick of Island Pub, Richard Burns of Alaska Broadcast Communications, Inc., Steve Hamilton of Westmark Baranof and Christa Hagan of Princess Cruises & Tours.

The annual dinner is an informal gathering where election results are announced and members receive an annual financial report.

Ballots went out in November and winners were determined before the dinner. The results were kept secret until Thursday.

The Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau is a private nonprofit that focuses on economic development by promoting Juneau as a travel destination.
