KODIAK - Denby Lloyd, the former commissioner of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, is seeking a fisheries consulting job with the Kodiak Island Borough.
The Kodiak Daily Mirror reports Lloyd last week wrote a brief letter to the Kodiak Island Borough mayor expressing his interest.
If hired, his duties likely would include representing the borough at the North Pacific Fishery Management Council and the state Board of Fisheries.
The borough is planning to re-evaluate its representation at the two boards. The city and the borough jointly now pay Kodiak Chamber of Commerce executive director Trevor Brown to attend the meetings and report back.
Lloyd at one time was Kodiak's top Fish and Game area research biologist. He stepped down as commissioner last month.
