Man accused in attack on girl is indicted

JUNEAU - A man accused of kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old Juneau girl has been indicted.
The grand jury on Friday indicted 39-year-old Christopher Allen Scholes on 17 felony counts, including sexual assault, kidnapping and assault.
Scholes is accused in the Dec. 2 kidnapping and sexual assault of the girl. He was arrested in Washington state. His return to Juneau is still pending extradition proceedings.
Police say it was a brutal attack and they intend to vigorously prosecute the case to ensure Scholes gets the maximum punishment.
