Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Assaults:

• Police arrested a man, 49, for domestic violence assault at 9:58 a.m. Saturday in the Mendenhall Valley. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Thefts:

• Christmas lawn ornaments, valued at $100, were reported stolen at 7:56 a.m. Sunday from a residence near Sawa Circle.

• An outdoor Christmas projector was reported stolen at 9:18 a.m. Sunday near Moraine Way. The projector was stolen from a yard between 2 and 9 a.m. Sunday.

• A 6-foot inflatable polar bear was reported stolen at 10:25 a.m. Sunday from a lawn near Mint Way. The bear was stolen sometime Sunday morning and is valued at $60.

• A green Northstar backpack, valued at $200, was reported stolen at 12:54 p.m. Sunday near 37 mile Glacier Highway.

• About $400 was reported stolen from a fanny pack at 1:34 p.m. Sunday near West Willoughby Avenue. The pack was left in a public bathroom.

• A tall plastic Santa was reported stolen at 3:49 p.m. Sunday from a porch near Julep Street.

• A 1918 Liberty coin, valued at $6, and a bus pass were reported stolen at 5:19 p.m. Sunday near Second Street. The items were stolen from a coat pocket.

Vehicle accidents:

• A mother and her 4-year-old son were taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident around 8 p.m. Saturday near Egan Drive at the Fred Meyer intersection. A 1994 Toyota truck driven by a woman, 28, lost traction on ice on the road. The woman lost control of the vehicle and it slid across the outbound lanes of traffic into the median where it rolled on its side. The woman and her son were taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for evaluation. They were uninjured and were released from the hospital Saturday evening. Police did not have a damage estimate for the vehicle.

Other:

• Alaska State Troopers are investigating the death of a Haines man in a fire Thursday in Thorne Bay. William Walker, 42, was found dead inside a home around 7:30 p.m. The state medical examiner's office, fire marshal and Walker's family were notified.

• A man, 25, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Washington at 5:45 a.m. Sunday near Foster Avenue. The warrant was issued for escape. He was lodged at the state prison.
