Former Juneau teacher Charles DeBoer, right, 89, poses with a bull moose he bagged this past season in Gustavus. His brother-in-law, Bill White, is in the background. Outfitted with a heart pacemaker and battling congestive heart failure, DeBoer continues to be an avid outdoorsman. His wife, Dorothy, died in 2001 and was the first principal at Glacier Valley Elementary School.
