SOLDOTNA - Alaska State Troopers say they chased down a driver in Soldotna who twice refused to pull over for a traffic stop and then smashed into the bumper of a Bureau of Highway Patrol car.

Troopers say the man fled on foot Monday and was tracked to a Soldotna house where two other men interfered with officers. All three were finally taken into custody and held at the Wildwood Pretrial Facility without bail.

The driver, 40-year-old Kevin V. Johnson of Kenai, had a warrant for failure to comply with probation. He's also facing charges of felony eluding, reckless driving and assault.
