Man threatens "suicide by cop"

Posted: Friday, December 17, 2010

ANCHORAGE - Two state troopers were called to a Wasilla home where troopers say a man was threatening to commit "suicide by cop."

An investigation revealed 37-year-old Matthew J. Nardini called 911 on Wednesday, but then told emergency dispatch he meant to call information instead.

Authorities say Nardini lured troopers to the home with the call, pulled out a firearm and threatened the two troopers with it.

After a brief standoff, Nardini was disarmed and taken into custody.

He was charged with assault and criminal mischief.
