Here in Wasilla, I look forward to the day when I can drive my car to Juneau, our state's capital.
The Alaska Marine Highway and Alaska Airlines do a good job of moving people to and from Juneau. But it's time to get with it and build a road. Just 70 miles separates Juneau from the rest of the state - and the world beyond.
There are lots of excuses not to build a road: it crosses a park; it costs money; or someone might crash. But the benefits exceed these risks - it's vital to have better access between Juneau and the rest of the state.
Only a road can achieve this important goal.
