Veterans for Peace shows need for military

Two things will happen without young men and women volunteering to serve in the military: To ensure domestic tranquility and provide for the common defense, Congress would eventually require a certain age group to serve a military term, and America would eventually see the removal of those freedoms we hold so dear, such as freedom of speech.

Sound off on the important issues at

A big thank you should go out to the Veterans for Peace group for its marvelous demonstration of why Americans should continue to volunteer for military service. By attempting to dissuade young Americans from serving their country, these American citizens exhibit a wonderful example of the freedom that the military has provided and protected for more than 200 years. Any American should be proud of their service to uphold that value that is taken for granted and abused by so many.

As long as patriotic Americans continue to answer the call to stand watch over freedom, America will always have Americans that refuse to be grateful.
