Liz James, left, who teaches Tlingit culture and language at Harborview Elementary School, and her students Rose Haube and Lijo Wilson watch a student-teacher basketball game Thursday at the Marie Drake gym. The students are holding signs with Tlingit words they used to cheer with as a language learning aid. "Latseen" means "strength" and "at yaa awunéi" means respect.
