Bruce Botelho, left, and Lupita Alvarez Botelho, third from left, proudly award their son, Alex Botelho, center, a senior at Juneau-Douglas High School, his Eagle Scout rank at a court of honor held in November. Troop 11 Scoutmaster Keith Pahlke, far right, assists. The Eagle rank is the highest youth achievement in the Boy Scouts of America. A member of Troop 11, which is sponsored by Resurrection Lutheran Church, Alex Botelho has held a variety of offices in his troop, including that of senior patrol leader. He is currently the troop scribe. Inaddition to his Scouting activities, he is class vice president, a member of the National Honor Society and the Alpine Club. He is an avid snowboarder. Botelho's Eagle project was the construction of a wood bridge across a creek on the Bonnie Brae access trail to the Treadwell Ditch Trail. The project included placing and leveling sills, fortifying the bank, modifying the immediate access to the bridge and laying of the bridge itself.
