ANCHORAGE - Two men charged in the June 2006 shooting at the Anchorage Football Stadium have been acquitted.
A jury Wednesday acquitted 19-year-old Clayton Nai and 23-year-old Norman Fagafaga of multiple attempted murder and assault charges.
The trial lasted a month.
Prosecutors accused Nai and Fagafaga of gang involvement and firing dozens of bullets after a pickup football game.
One man was seriously injured and football and baseball teams plus fans were sent scrambling for cover.
Nai and Fagafaga said they were wrongly accused.
Several witnesses who testified either couldn't recall key details of the shootout or recanted statements made to police, including the shooting victim.
