Dec. 19-20

• JDHS hockey vs. Tok - The Juneau-Douglas High School varsity hockey team will take a break from its Mid-Alaska Conference schedule to host 3A Tok for a weekend pair at Treadwell Arena. Friday night's game begins at 8 p.m. and Saturday night's matchup kicks off at 7 p.m.

Dec. 19-20

• JDHS basketball vs. Palmer - The Juneau-Douglas High School varsity basketball teams will kick off their in-state seasons and homecoming weekend by each hosting Palmer for a weekend doubleheader at JDHS. The girls' games will tip off each night at 6:15 p.m., with the boys' matchups starting at 8 p.m. on both nights.

Saturday, Dec. 20

• Youth basketball skills clinic - There will be basketball skills clinics for 5- to 9-year-olds at 1:15 p.m., and for 10- to 18-year-olds at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School gym. Info: Cody, 586-5226.

Dec. 20-31

• Holiday Cup - The 16th annual Holiday Cup competitive indoor soccer tournament will be held Dec. 20-31. There are five coed divisions: Elementary Division (grades 4-5, minimum age 9), Middle School Division, Junior High School Division (ages 16 and under), Senior Division (players age 17-20), and Masters Division (age 21 and older). Coaches and managers interested in sponsoring a team must submit a roster by 5 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Law Offices of Dillon & Findley, 350 N. Franklin St. Team entries only. Dec. 27-30

• Capital City Classic - Juneau-Douglas High School and Princess Tours will host the annual Capital City Classic High School Basketball Tournament in the JDHS main gym. Passes are on sale at the JDHS activities office, with all six sessions costing $30. School offices will be open until Dec. 22. Passes will also be available at the door. Thursday, Jan. 8

• Adult coed volleyball team registration - Packets for Juneau Parks & Recreation's adult coed volleyball teams are available on the second floor of the Municipal Building, Room 218. Team registration will be held at 5 p.m. Jan. 8 in the Assembly Chambers, located on the main floor of the Municipal Building, 155 Seward. Late registration will be taken on Jan. 9 at the Parks & Recreation Office. • Youth referees needed - Juneau Parks and Recreation is looking for referees for the upcoming youth basketball season. If you have any knowledge of the game of basketball, or have any experience playing or reffing, we would love to have your help. You will get paid for each game you referee. The season runs to March 14. For more information, please contact Cody Anderson at 586-5226.

• Volunteer basketball coaches needed - Juneau Parks and Recreation is looking for volunteer coaches for the upcoming 2009 youth basketball season. There is a need especially in the boys 9-10, 11-12, and 15-18 age divisions, as well as the girls' 7-8 and 11-12 age divisions. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the community this winter season. This program cannot run without the help of the volunteer coaches. • Adult soccer - The Capital City Soccer League is offering adult soccer at the Dimond Park Fieldhouse. Classic Women League for beginning players is from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday nights. Cost is $35. Games played October-December. Masters Co-ed League for men over 30 and skilled women players is 7:30-9 p.m. Friday nights. Cost is $35. Games played October-December. • Court rentals - Community Schools has court rentals available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School. Cost is $30 per hour, per court. To reserve time, call 780-2075.

• HoopTime basketball registration - HoopTime Basketball is taking registration for players in grades 4-8. The 2009 HoopTime season begins Jan. 5. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration deadline is Nov. 30. Late registration ends Dec. 6. Forms can be found at /www.hoop- time.org/. Mail the forms to P.O.
