KODIAK - The fate of one of two men charged with second-degree murder in a 2008 slaying in Kodiak is now in the hands of a Superior Court jury.
KMXT reports that jurors in the trial of 31-year-old Chawn Summerall of Kodiak deliberated for less than two hours Thursday before recessing for the night.
Summerall is charged with killing Darrell Cavaness. On the night of Jan. 22, 2008, the 41-year-old Cavaness was found unconscious in an apartment with severe head injuries. He died about a week later in an Anchorage hospital.
